Volunteer your time!
Do you want a change of scene and a slower pace in a wonderful setting?
In exchange for a weeks camping in a bell tent, volunteers work around the camp for approximately 22 hours.
The week runs from Thursday to Thursday. Arrivals is between 2-5pm if possible and the work is generally done on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 5.5 hours each day, but is flexible depending on what is required, how busy we are and the weather. On Wednesday’s we provide a supper basket and vino (or soft drink), and hope to join you for a drink (but sometimes is not possible).
Fridays and Mondays are based around camp turnaround and Saturdays and Sunday woodland work. Camp turnaround may involve recycling, wood and kindling, cleaning BBQ’s, lanterns, stoves, litter, laundry and mopping. Woodland works may involve, brash, logs for camp fire, bracken control, birds and insect boxes, reeds bed weeding, ditch clearance, trees and bulb planting….
This year we are also introducing that if you volunteer with us three times or more, you then earn a free 2 night mid week stay (not as a volunteer as a guest!)

You must be 18 or over and in reasonable health (lots of running around), enthusiasm always helps. Families may come, over 18 must each give 20 hours of work.
What you do and What you get!
Tasks might include, depending on season;
- General maintenance / housekeeping on tent turnarounds
- Control of Brambles, bracken, and rhododendron (no chemicals)
- Tree pruning, Gathering Firewood
- Installing bird, owl and bat boxes.
